It's been a week since the surgery and Graeme is getting a bit better every day.
- After surgery, Graeme needed an NG (nasogastric) tube to help keep his stomach empty. Happily, that was removed today!
- Graeme has been put back on a clear fluid diet and seems to be handling that just fine. I guess he'll have to get used to Jell-O and popsicles again :-)
- Before the surgery there was a build up of bile in the liver which caused some jaundice. That seems to be almost cleared up and Graeme's colour is much better now.
- Graeme had a CT on Monday and it shows that some fluid has collected in the abdominal cavity. They are going to remove the fluid either today or tomorrow.
- He also had an xray on Monday to check for gallstones. There is one near where the gall bladder used to be but they aren't concerned. At some point, when they send a scope down to check the duct, they will grab the gallstone.
- We are trying to take a walk around the floor three times a day so if you call and there is no answer, we are probably out for a stroll.
I'm looking forward to bringing the boys in this evening. They haven't seen Graeme for more than a week which is quite difficult on them and Graeme.
